The United Kingdom government introduced the Universal Credit to assist people who are of the working age. The fact that the facility is not solely in work or out-of-work benefit makes it much simpler than the current system of tax credits and benefits. The tax benefit is for all people regardless of their prevailing employment status.

The tax credit is for all people of the United Kingdom residing in regions such as Wales, Scotland, and England. It endeavors to ease the transitioning that the British encounter into as well as out of work. The Department for Work and Pensions administers the tax credit in all the parts of the United Kingdom.

Universal Credit Customer Services

Universal Credit Helpline

Applicants get different amounts of credit depending on several factors. For example, the credit that applicants get for housing is much different from what applicants receive for children as well as childcare. Similarly, an applicant who is disabled or struggles with a health condition gets a different amount from somebody caring for a person with a disability.

It is worth mentioning that an applicant who gets the tax credit to help him with housing should pay the rent directly to the landlord. Applicants receive the credit once each month. For applicants who live together as partners, the government will send the tax credit as one payment to cover both of them.
