Flybe was created on July 2002 when British European had to transform its business model dramatically. The change in business model was necessary for the company to survive in an industry that had grown increasingly competitive. The birth of the company heralded the beginning of an era of low-cost travel by air.

December 2012 marked a turning point in the history of the company. This is because the carrier became the first one in the United Kingdom to provide travelers with check-in services right at the point of booking. A few months earlier in March 2012, the carrier had become the first one in the UK in creating a hub of regional networks among all the independent carriers in the country.

I flew with Flybe from Cardiff to Jersey on 23rd March 2018 and carelessly left my Gucci reading glasses in the pocket in front of my seat. When I asked at Jersey Airport if they had been handed into them I was informed no that it would be with Flybe lost property. I then asked on board my return flight on Sunday and the in flight crew informed me they would be handed into the Airport so to try Cardiff. I’ve contacted Cardiff and they inform me lost property found onboard will be with the airline and not the airport! I know I was careless in leaving my glasses behind but surely I’m not the only person who has done so? What surprises me is that neither the Airports nor the on line crew seem to know the correct procedure for customers to reclaim their lost property! I’ve just had 4 flights with Flybe this weekend and experiencing this with your company has put me off flying with you again. Far too frustrating Customer Service!
